The company was started by Mr. P Ramadas along with the promoters of Ace Designers Ltd. Mr. Ashok V Sathe, Mr. Srinivas G Shirgurkar and Mr. Benedict Machado in Feb 1994. Driven by rich engineering experience of these technocrats, AMS has grown continuously to be what it is today. The customer centric approach has made AMS popular among corporate as well as small and medium scale enterprises.

Mr. B. G. Dwarakanath, Independent Director of the Company, completed his B.E – Mechanical from Visvesvaraya College of Engineering in the year 1970. He has over 40 years of experience in machine Tools industry. He joined Titan Industries as COO and Vice President, in the year 1985 and served there for 25 years. He is currently associated with Titan Industries as the Senior Corporate Advisor in the areas of Business Excellence, Technology, Product & Service quality, R&D/New product development as well as Executive Coaching. He joined AMS as Independent Director in 2013.

Ms. Shubha Rao Mayya, Independent Director of the Company is a graduate in Commerce. She completed her Chartered Accountancy from Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) in the year 1986. She is an Insurance and Banking Professional and has over 30 years of experience in this field. She has worked with ICICI Bank, ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Co. Ltd. and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). She joined the Board of AMS as an Independent Director in August 2018.

Mr. L.S. Umesh, Director & CEO of the company, completed his Graduation in Mechanical Engineering at the National Institute of Engineering, Mysore in the year 1981. He joined Mysore Kirloskar Limited, Harihar, (MKL) as a Design Engineer. He later joined AMS Mr. L.S. Umesh was a member of the Board of Studies in National Institute of Engineering, Mysore. He was also member of advisory board at H.M.I. Institute of Technology, Tumkur to introduce better industry/institution co-operation.

Mr. Harish Kumar C., Chief Operating Officer of the company is a graduate in Mechanical Engineering from Bangalore University. He brings along with him a rich experience of 25 years in the Machine Tool Industry. He began his career in 1993 with Bharat Fritz Werner, Bangalore as a Sales Engineer. He joined AMS as the Chief Operating Officer in January 2017. He is passionate about change management, keen learner, looks forward to adopt and experiment new techniques and processes in pursuit of excellence.

Solar Rooftop Photovoltaic Unit for power generation
AMS is involved in many natural resources conservation activities like planting trees, rain water harvesting, recharging of the bore wells and adopting concept like open office resulting in reduction in electricity consumption. Moving ahead, AMS has installed 468 KWp Solar Rooftop Photovoltaic (SRTTPV) panels on the roof of the factory. This facility has been generating around 2000 units per day, meeting 40% of the total power consumption requirements.

AMS corporate office and factory is built in accordance with the Green Building Concept. The Phase 1 of the plant has the capability to manufacture 1,200 machines in a year. The Phase 2 has an assembly capacity of 2,200 machines. The factory with multi-floor assembly facility is one of its kinds in the country today.

The green factory uses minimum amounts of artificial illumination and ventilation keeping the ecological footprint low. The factory has a rain water harvesting tank which has the capacity to collect water up to 1.8 million liters. The in-house water treatment facility recycles water and is used for gardening and other non-critical purposes.

The solar panels in the factory have a capacity of 500 kWh which meets about 60 to 70% of our existing demand of power.
